My novels center on nineteenth-century Colorado, like my family, who came here in 1870. I sometimes use supernatural elements and time travel to tell history in a unique and engaging way. I believe cinematic imagery and unique perspective draw the reader into the scenes. 

I live on a remote Colorado ranch and travel to old mining camps and historic areas to do research and seek inspiration.  

I am a three-time top pick for the Claymore Writing Award
